Paintless dent repair has often been thought of as an art, with the technician being the artist! While learning PDR is similar to learning to play a musical instrument or even a sport, quality instruction is the key to unlocking ones potential.
I’ve personally trained guys who thought they’d pick up a training video and some cheap tools and “go at it,” only to realize that without a seasoned professional over their shoulder to offer instruction on what to do and what not to do. Without training properly for the paintless dent repair trade, the chances of success in the PDR business are slim. Van Halen took guitar lessons when he first learned to play and guitar and even Tiger Woods, one of the greatest golfers of all time has an instructor to personally bring his game to the next level.
When PDR is taught by a quality instructor, one can achieve the necessary foundation and building blocks to building ones skill level. Like learning to play the guitar, the chords are taught first in order to make music. Similarly, PDR requires simple lesson plans followed by working along side your instructor on a variety of vehicles. Only practice makes perfect!
